Nani’s most-awaited action drama Saripodhaa Sanivaaram has finally made its theatrical debut. Directed by Vivek Athreya, the film stars Nani, Priyanka Arul Mohan, and SJ Suryah in lead roles. The film, which received a solo release today (August 29), has been receiving mixed to positive responses from critics and audiences. Here’s how the FDFS-goers have reacted to the film.

Many social media users took to X (formerly Twitter) to heap praise on the performances of the lead actors—especially that of antagonist SJ Suryah. Many users hailed the actor for his stellar performance and called him the ‘show-stealer’ of the film. One user commented, “Even with his first ‘action’ film, Vivek Athreya still managed to play to his strengths of intelligent writing and clever screenplay. Perfect casting of @iam_SJSuryah with his usual antics. Can't imagine anyone else in this role. Loved the face-off with @NameisNani, and they complemented each other well. Jakes Bejoy, welcome to TFI. BGM was fire.”

Although a few users found the length and narration of the film a bit dragged, they still enjoyed the screenplay and found the film engaging. Another user wrote, “Above average first half with a much better second half. What a show-stealer performance & characterization for SJSuryah. Nani & Priyanka Mohan shine well. Predictability & 2hr 45mins length are drawbacks... could have been trimmed. Jakes Bejoy BGM was a blast. Many interesting theatrical moments were placed between Nani & SJSuryah. Overall, a NEAT commercially packaged entertainer that can be watched in theatres.”

Ever since glimpses of the film were released, fans have been hyped to experience the catchy soundtracks and background score composed by Mollywood composer Jakes Bejoy in his Telugu debut. Many users praised the composer for elevating the cinematic experience through his composition, saying, “29-08-2024! A star music director will be born in TFI. Remember the name—Jakes Bejoy.”

Overall, despite a few misses, the film has impressed audiences, and judging by the trends, it is sure to lure more viewers to theatres this weekend.

Written and directed by Vivek Athreya, the film stars Nani, Priyanka Mohan, and SJ Suryah in lead roles, with Aditi Balan, Abhirami, Murali Sharma, Sai Kumar, Ajay Ghosh, and Harshavardhan in supporting roles. The film revolves around Surya as he confronts CI Daya who targets people from Shokulapalam. Interestingly, the protagonist of the film only unleashes his anger on Saturdays.
