Ranveer’s groovy moves, Alia’s expressions make the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’s average track ‘What Jhumka’ fun

When we heard that Karan Johar is returning to the director’s chair for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, our expectations were sky high. He managed to exceed these expectations with the trailer and the first track Tum Kya Mile. Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal’s angelic vocals along with Alia Bhatt’s chiffon sarees and the picturesque background left us mesmerized. Alia’s chemistry with Ranveer Singh was a cherry on top. Well, the markers have now dropped the second track, titled What Jhumka? Helmed by Arijit and Jonita Gandhi, it has the essence of Asha Bhosle’s Jhoomka Gira Re.

While Alia and Ranveer’s magical chemistry stays intact, the song in itself is average. What makes it special is Rocky’s smooth and groovy dancing moves along with Rani’s killer expressions. Ranveer and Alia are such a vibe! They look quite convincing as a couple and seem like they are actually having fun. KJo’s casting is definitely on point here. But this track is not the ‘scintillating dance anthem’ that we expected it to be. Yes, it is fun to watch and has been shot beautifully. However, there’s something missing. See for yourself:

Under this video, fans have given the song a warm response. Many are glad that the actual song was not remade and only its essence was used in What Jhumka. For instance, one social media user wrote: “I liked how they didn't ruin the original song. This is a whole different vibe! and the steps after the line "what jhumka?" are amazing😂❤”, whereas another happy netizen shared, “Through this song I had a smile on. Infectious. Whether you consider it "nothing new" it is still a happy song we needed. Rocky seems like a fun loving guy melting Rani's serious nature.”
