Back in February this year, the official Twitter handle of Sony Pictures International Productions took social media by storm when they shared a special announcement. One of the greatest and most loved superheroes of our country, the one and only Shaktimaan , is returning. But this time things are going up a notch because the TV star will be ruling the silver screen in a trilogy! It was also reported that Mukesh Khanna, who won us over as Gangadhar aka Shaktimaan, will be stepping aside for another actor to take over the reins.
Sony Pictures International Productions is set to bring ‘Shaktimaan’ to the big screen, and will recreate the magic of the iconic superhero, to be headlined by one of India’s superstars.

Well, a report shared by India Today has now revealed that Bollywood’s livewire Ranveer Singh has been approached to headline the much awaited trilogy. That’s right! A source was quoted saying, “Ranveer has shown a keen interest in playing Shaktimaan, the Indian superhero. The makers too feel that Ranveer can bring a natural charisma to the superhero character, who was first introduced in 1997. Talks are on with the actor and the team.” This is a chance of a lifetime and we are sure the superstar will not give it up!
Meanwhile, Ranveer has been incredibly busy shooting for his other upcoming projects. After impressing fans with his satire Jayeshbhai Jordaar, which was based on female infanticide, the actor began gearing up for Rohit Shetty ’s comedy Cirkus. Also starring Jacqueline Fernandez and Pooja Hegde , the film features him in a double role. Ranveer also has Karan Johar ’s directorial Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani opposite Alia Bhatt in the pipeline.
