After spending over 3 months in the Bigg Boss 17 house, where the game and her married life were her only points of focus, TV actress Ankita Lokhande returned to the real world in January. Just two days later, the beauty gave her fans an exciting news. Ankita revealed that she is all set to make her come back to the silver screen with the upcoming film Swatantrya Veer Savarkar opposite the very versatile Randeep Hooda. We only got a glimpse of her in the trailer, but Randeep and Ankita’s chemistry during promotions has been unmissable.
But did you know that Randeep did not want the actress in this film? That’s right! Ankita made the shocking revelation recently at an event in Pune. Bollywood Life quoted her saying, “I don't think I want you in the film'. I was like, why? He was like, 'You are too pretty for the character (Yamunabai Savarkar)'. I was like, 'Please don't say that'.” Ankita went on to add, “He (Randeep) had done so much research, he was so sure about what he wanted in the film, he knew everything about what she (Yamunabai Savarkar) was like. She was the successful woman behind a successful man (Veer Savarkar).”
Well, the words ‘too pretty’ are generally used as a compliment. But imagine Ankita’s reaction when Randeep said he did not want her in the film for this reason. We sure are glad things worked out for the best because watching Ankita shine on the silver screen again will be a delight. The beauty made her Bollywood debut back in 2019 with Kangana Ranaut’s hit film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Ankita went on to star in Baaghi 3 and The Last Coffee.
Ankita and Randeep’s historical biographical film, which is based on the life story of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, will arrive in theatres on 22nd March.
