Ranbir Kapoor reveals Ayan Mukerji had an idea for Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani 2 before Brahmastra: ‘He might make it’

One filmmaker and actor jodi, who have time and again proven that they are indeed a dynamic duo, are Ayan Mukerji and Ranbir Kapoor. They really get each other and have very similar visions of what their movies should look like. Each time they work together, they create magic on screen. The latest example of the same is Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, the first installment in a planned trilogy. But before Ayan got busy with his passion project, he apparently had a good for the sequel of another blockbuster hit starring Ranbir-- Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani.

Deepika Padukone and Ranbir’s on-screen chemistry was fire whereas Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin delivered one of their best performances till date in this coming-of-age rom com drama. In a recent virtual interaction with his fans, Ranbir shared what he believes could happen in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani 2. Hindustan Times quoted him saying, “I think Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani would make a good sequel... Ayan also had a very nice story, I remember, but then he went into this Brahmastra journey. But, never say never.”

Ranbir went on to add, “He might make it after a couple of years. I think the story will be 10 years forward where Bunny, Naina, Avi and Aditi, where they are in their lives. I think it’ll be quite interesting and nice to explore those characters.” Well, this is definitely great news for movie lovers who have been dying to see Ranbir and Deepika shine together on the big screen again. But this sequel might not be the only reunion for the two actors. Fans are convinced that Deepika had a cameo in Brahmastra and many are predicting that she will join Ranbir and Alia Bhatt in Brahmastra: Part Two – Dev to take the story forward. Bollywood’s future is looking quite bright right now.
