Amaran
Amaran, one of the most highly anticipated Tamil films of 2024, is expected to be a game-changer for Sivakarthikeyan’s career. While the production took longer than initially planned, due to extended post-production work, director Rajkumar Periasamy assures fans that the wait will be well worth it.
"You have all waited for this movie for a long time. It took a while to complete the production, but this will be a film that will be worthy of all your wait," said Rajkumar during a recent promotional event in Malaysia. The director travelled with the main cast, including Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, as part of the film's global promotional tour.

Amaran, a military action film, has been generating significant buzz due to its gripping story, intense action sequences, and a fresh role for Sivakarthikeyan. The actor, who has dabbled in action in the past, underwent a physical transformation for his role as Major Mukund Varadarajan, a decorated Indian Army officer who engaged in high-risk anti-terror operations in Jammu and Kashmir. This is being hailed as his first bona fide action film, showcasing a more rugged and intense side of the star.
Rajkumar Periasamy previously shared how he came to direct Amaran under Kamal Haasan's banner, Raaja Kamal Films International. Initially, Rajkumar was set to helm a small-budget thriller film for Kamal's production house, but the compelling story of Major Mukund Varadarajan caught his attention. When he presented the idea to Kamal Haasan, the veteran actor-producer not only gave his blessing but also offered to co-produce the film alongside Sony Pictures.
Kamal, however, asked Rajkumar to cast a fresh face for the lead role, and after much consideration, the director zeroed in on Sivakarthikeyan. This decision has proven to be a pivotal one, as Amaran is expected to showcase Sivakarthikeyan in a more action-heavy role than ever before.
The slated for an October 31 release, coinciding with Diwali.
