Superstar Rajinikanth was admitted to Apollo Hospitals in Chennai on Monday night, sparking concern among his legion of fans after it was revealed that he was undergoing a medical procedure. The hospital, however, swiftly issued a statement on Tuesday, assuring the public that the treatment was successful and the Superstar is in stable condition.
"Mr. Rajinikanth was admitted to Apollo Hospitals, Grearns Road, on 30 September 2024. He had a swelling in the main blood vessel leaving his heart (Aorta), which was treated by a non-surgical, transcatheter method. Senior Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Sal Satish placed a stent in the aorta, completely sealing off the swelling (Endovascular Repair). We would like to let his well-wishers and fans know that the procedure went as planned. Mr. Rajinikanth is stable and doing well. He should be home in two days," read the official statement from the hospital.

The procedure was elective, and Rajinikanth is expected to return home shortly, putting his fans at ease after the brief health scare.
On the career front
Rajinikanth's latest film Vettaiyan has just been cleared by the censor board with a U/A certificate. Directed by TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim fame and produced by Lyca Productions, Vettaiyan is one of the most eagerly awaited movies of 2024.
The film's teaser revealed Rajinikanth in the role of a celebrated cop known for his controversial encounters killings of notorious criminals. While the character appears to support this harsh method to contain crime, Gnanavel's history as a filmmaker suggests that Vettaiyan will offer a deeper exploration of the moral and ethical implications behind such actions.
In addition to Rajinikanth, the star-studded cast includes Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, and Manju Warrier. Vettaiyan is set to hit theatres on October 10.
Rajinikanth is also currently busy filming Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
