Amid the national mourning, Rajinikanth’s latest film Vettaiyan hit theatres. Despite the movie's release, the industry mood was sombre as leaders across various sectors reflected on the immense loss.
Rajinikanth himself is recovering from a medical procedure he underwent recently. The actor was treated for a swelling in the aorta, the primary artery that carries blood from the heart, through a non-surgical procedure. The treatment was planned in advance, and he was admitted to the hospital after completing a long shooting schedule for his upcoming movie Coolie in Hyderabad.
Rajinikanth is expected to rest for a few more weeks before resuming work. Meanwhile, his film Vettaiyan has opened to mixed reviews, and its box office performance remains to be seen.
