Rajinikanth in Coolie
Speculation is buzzing in the film industry as reports suggest that Superstar Rajinikanth may collaborate with hit Malayalam filmmaker Jude Anthany Joseph for an upcoming project. According to sources, Joseph has pitched a story to the Superstar, and discussions are reportedly underway.
Jude Anthany Joseph, known for his blockbuster 2018, has recently signed a film with Lyca Productions. Given Lyca’s previous association with Rajinikanth in several big projects, it wouldn't be surprising if Joseph directs the superstar under this production house. However, there’s also talk that if the project with Rajinikanth materializes, Vels Film International might step in as the producer.

Fans are eagerly awaiting an official confirmation, but it seems they may have to be patient. Rajinikanth has a busy schedule with his current commitments. His next film, Vettaiyan, a socio-political drama directed by TJ Gnanavel, is set for release on October 10. Additionally, he is also shooting for Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, which is progressing swiftly in Hyderabad. With an ensemble cast that includes Sathyaraj, Nagarjuna, Upendra, and Shruti Haasan, Coolie is expected to hit theatres early next year.
Jude Anthany Joseph's 2018 catapulted him into the spotlight, earning him praise from across the country. The film, based on the real-life Kerala floods, became the first Malayalam film to cross the Rs 200 crore mark. Joseph's skill at crafting emotionally powerful, large-scale narratives has made him one of the most sought-after directors in Indian cinema.
After watching 2018, Rajinikanth even hosted Jude at his residence in Chennai. However, any details about the future project are likely to be announced only after Rajinikanth wraps up his current films.
