After the mega success of the Ajay Devgn starrer Raid, the makers were super happy and also encouraged to make its sequel. That’s when and why the film’s sequel Raid 2 was born. This Ajay Devgn starrer has been in the news and has been equally making news… for all the right reasons. There have been many who must have been waiting for some update / developments about the film.
So, here is the good news that many of you have been waiting for! The news is that, after having stated the shooting of Raid 2 in the first week of January, the Raj Kumar Gupta directed Raid 2 has now been wrapped up last month in Delhi, as per a source-based report in Mid Day. Besides Ajay Devgn, the film also stars Riteish Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor.
The report mentioned that, just like Raid, its sequel Raid 2 will see Ajay Devgn in the role of a senior Income Tax Officer Amay Patnaik. And this time round, the premise for the film’s plot happens to be a real-life raid case in Uttar Pradesh, which was that of a UP politician-businessman, who had got accused of tax evasion of over Rs. 100 crore!
The same report added that, the unit of the film Raid 2 had an extensive shooting schedule which had taken place. And, as a part of this jam-packed schedule, the film had been shot in the cities of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and finally to the capital Delhi! The report also added that the film’s unit had wrapped up the schedule on May 10.
And, as an elaboration, it has been reported that, the first schedule of the film Raid 2 was done in Mumbai over a week with Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh. This was immediately followed by the film’s unit having its next schedule (which was a month-long schedule), in Lucknow. And, the locations in which the film was shot in Lucknow included La Martiniere College as well as Isabella Thoburn College. And for the next schedule of the film, the location which was chosen was the sand dunes of Khimsar, at Mehrangarh Fort in Rajasthan and also a few parts of Jodhpur.
While the Ajay Devgn starrer Raid 2 is being planned for a November 15 release all over, do watch this space for developments.
