Mari Selvaraj’s latest film Vaazhai has been receiving immense love from critics and audiences, who have been praising the film for its impressive storyline and performances. While many celebrities have already expressed their views on the film, it was Pradeep Ranganathan’s review that excited fans the most.
The makers of Vaazhai took to their social media pages to share the actor's statement, who heaped praise on the film. He said, (translated) “I watched the movie Vaazhai and it was superb. When I found out that the film was based on director Mari Selvaraj sir’s life story, I was amazed thinking about his journey so far. I have immense respect for Mari Selvaraj.”

Vaazhai rules TN box office
Despite being a low-budget Tamil film, Vaazhai has been celebrated by audiences for its poignant storytelling and stellar performances by the lead actors. The film has garnered over Rs 10 crore at the box office and has turned out to be one of the very few profitable Tamil films released this year. Although the film was released alongside Soori and director PS Vinothraj’s Kottukkaali, the Mari Selvaraj directorial managed to attract more audiences to theaters, leading to its box office success.
Vaazhai plot, cast, and crew
Written, directed, and produced by Mari Selvaraj, Vaazhai narrates the poignant life story of Sivanandhan, a twelve-year-old boy, and a plantain tree that plays a crucial role in the film. The film stars Ponvel M, Raghul R, Kalaiyarasan, Nikhila Vimal, J Sathish Kumar, Dhivya Duraisamy, and Janaki in key roles. This film also marks Mari Selvaraj’s debut as a producer, with Santhosh Narayanan composing the original score and soundtracks. Theni Eswar serves as the cinematographer, and Suriya Pradhaman handles the editing.
