Officer on Duty: Kunchacko Boban confirms film to hit theatres in February 2025

After the psychological thriller film Bougainvillea, Kunchacko Boban will be seen in another crime thriller film, titled Officer on Duty. Helmed by debutant Jithu Ashraf, the film has got a release window in the first half of 2025. Read on to know more about the release window, cast and more about the Kunchacko Boban-starrer

A while ago, Kunchacko Boban  took to his Instagram page to announce that his upcoming film Officer on Duty will hit the big screens in February 2025. However, the noted actor did not specify the release date.

The film, which also stars Priya Mani in the lead role, features Jagadesh and Vishakh Nair in key roles. The rest of the supporting cast includes Manoj KU, Srikant Murali, CJ Antony, Unni Lalu and Jaya Kurup.

Earlier in November this year, the makers had released the first look posters of the lead actors. While Kunchacko Boban was seen as a resolute cop in one of the posters, another featured him sharing a romantic moment with the female lead Priyamani. This is the first time that the lead pair are collaborating on a project.

The film is scripted by Shahi Kabir, and the music is scored by Jakes Bejoy. The cinematography is handled by Roby Varghese Raj, who directed the Mammootty-starrer Kannur Squad.

The film is produced under the banners of Martin Prakkat Films and The Green Room. Filmmaker Martin Prakkat had earlier co-produced films such as Iratta and Nayattu in the recent years.

Kunchacko Boban’s Bougainvillea

Meanwhile, Kunchacko Boban’s latest film Bougainvillea started streaming on SonyLiv and OTTplay Premium last week. The film, helmed by Amal Neerad, also stars Jyothirmayi. Fahadh Faasil is also a part of the cast along with Veena Nandakumar, Srinda and Sharafudheen.

The film revolves around a couple, Reethu and Royce, who get entangled in a case of mysterious disappearances of three young girls.
