Before the grand release of the Ravi Teja-starrer Mr. Bachchan, the film was recently granted a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). However, the Censor Board instructed the makers to make several changes before its release. One of the main changes was the removal of a poster featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha in the rolling credits. The Censor Board directed the filmmakers to replace this poster with one featuring Amitabh Bachchan alongside his wife, Jaya Bachchan.

The board also requested several other changes to the film, including the addition of a disclaimer stating that the film is fictional and not based on any real people or places. Offensive words were to be removed or replaced, and a brief scene showing blood was cut. Additionally, a two-minute scene where a child was smoking was altered, with the beedi replaced by a pencil.
Notably, the Censor Board issued the certification on August 13, just two days before the film's theatrical release. The movie is set to have a runtime of 158 minutes, or 2 hours and 38 minutes, and is undoubtedly one of the most awaited Tollywood movies of the year.
Harish Shankar urges audiences to watch Raid before Mr. Bachchan
When rumours spread that Mr. Bachchan is a remake of the Ajay Devgn-starrer Raid, director Harish Shankar clarified the extent to which the film was inspired by it. He revealed that while the film is inspired by Raid, he made several changes to the script. To highlight these differences, the director encouraged audiences to watch Raid first before watching Mr Bachchan. “I will be happy if people watch Raid before watching Mr Bachchan. That way, the audience can understand the extent of the changes we made, and their respect for me will increase,” he stated.
