Mr Bachchan 2024: Release date, trailer, budget, cast and everything you need to know about Ravi Teja’s film

Mr. Bachchan, starring Ravi Teja, is one of the biggest Telugu releases this Independence Day weekend. Directed by Harish Shankar, the upcoming film, which also stars Jagapathi Babu and newcomer Bhagyashri Borse, revolves around an honest income tax officer who fights against corruption. Set in the 90s, the film is an official remake of Ajay Devgn's 2018 Hindi film Raid.

Mr. Bachchan release date

The Ravi Teja starrer is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on August 15, 2024. While several other films are slated for release during the same Independence Day holiday weekend, Mr. Bachchan will clash with Ram Pothineni and Puri Jagannadh’s Double iSmart at the Telugu box office. Meanwhile, in Tamil Nadu, the film will be clashing with Vikram’s much-awaited period drama Thangalaan.

Mr. Bachchan plot

Directed by Harish Shankar, Mr. Bachchan is the Telugu remake of Ajay Devgn's 2018 film Raid. The film revolves around an honest income tax officer who fights against a corrupt and wealthy man, portrayed by Jagapathi Babu. The movie is based on India’s longest income tax raid, conducted against the industrialist Sardar Inder Singh.

The trailer showcases a mix of high-octane action sequences coupled with romantic scenes between Ravi Teja and Bhagyashri Borse’s characters. The film begins with romantic exchanges between the leading man, Mr. Bachchan, aka Ravi Teja, and his love interest, Bhagyashri. The trailer then cuts to Jagapathi Babu, who is caught in an income tax raid set up by Ravi Teja’s character, an income tax official. Set in the 90s, the teaser features mass dialogues and fight sequences, promising to be a treat for Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja fans this Independence Day weekend.

Besides Ravi Teja, the film also stars Bhagyashri Borse, Jagapathi Babu, Sachin Khedekar, Satya, and Nellore Sudarshan in key roles. Produced by TG Vishwa Prasad, with co-producer Vivek Kuchibotla, under the People Media Factory banner, the film has Ayananka Bose as its cinematographer and Mickey J Meyer as the music composer.

Reportedly, Ravi Teja’s Mr. Bachchan is made on a budget of Rs 70-80 crores.

As per reports, the OTT rights of Mr. Bachchan have been acquired by Netflix and are expected to be available for streaming on the platform after its theatrical run.
