Masti 4: Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani, Vivek Oberoi to reunite for the comedy sequel? Here's what we know

Filmmaker Indra Kumar directed a crime comedy Masti in 2004 with Vivek Oberoi, Riteish Deshmukh and Aftab Shivdasani in the lead roles. The positive response from both critics and box office to the film, spawned a franchise that included two sequels, Grand Masti (2013) and Great Grand Masti (2016) in sex comedy genre. However, the third instalment didn't get as much appreciation as the original film received. If latest reports are to be believed, the makers have considered making a comeback with the flavour of the original Masti.

According to reports, the makers have decided to retain the lead actors Riteish, Vivek and Aftab for the upcoming fourth instalment. The pre-production work has begun and the rest of the cast will be finalized soon. "The fourth edition of the Masti franchise will go back to the original 2004 Masti flavour. The pre-production work on the film has begun, and will star Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani and Vivek Oberoi. Indra has made Milap Zaveri incharge of directing Masti 4 under his and Ashok Thakeria's home production.For those unaware, the core theme of the Masti franchise films have been adult comedy. The films follow three married friends who face hilarious consequences because of their extramarital affairs. Zaverii had written the dialogues for the first two Masti films. Meanwhile, the upcoming fourth installment is expected to go on floors in the beginning of 2024. However, there is no confirmation about the same as of now.

Meanwhile, Vivek, Riteish and Aftab are busy with their respective projects. Riteish is currently focusing on his home production ventures, as well as his upcoming acting projects including Visfot and Housefull 5. Vivek is eyeing the release of Rohit Shetty’s cop series Indian Police Force in which he stars alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Shilpa Shetty. On the other hand, Aftab has been away from the screen for quite some time. He was last in Special Ops 1.5 : The Himmat Story.
