Updated : September 05, 2022 06:16 PM ISTBollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is not only headlining her next film Emergency as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, but is also directing it.
Back in 2019, after making a mark on the Hindi film industry as a successful actor, the bold and beautiful Kangana Ranaut made her directorial debut with her film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. She did a fine job and the period drama emerged as a success. Well, up next Kangana is busy gearing up for her second directorial project, titled Emergency which features her as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Kangana had shared that she finally figured out no one can direct this film better than her.
Well ahead of the release, the actress took to her official social media handle to share a behind the scenes picture. In this snap, she is directing a scene in Emergency. But it’s her powerful caption about filmmaking that stole the show. Kangana wrote: “Filmmaking is a fine blend of prep, practice and spontaneity…. That’s why it can be the most difficult or the easiest thing to do, depends how efficiently you can be rigid and fluid both at the same time …. If you know how to prepare hard to shoot what must be shot yet in the last moment you demolish that mental structure/ road map / blue print and be free to find something entirely different based on your instincts then you know how to make a movie ….”
She went on to add, “And if you know how to make a movie you will know in actuality one can’t make a movie …. Film maker is a myth, there is no such thing … if anything a movie makes a maker because story has its own seed and soul which finds expression and manifests and so called maker simply watches bewildered, enchanted as she finds herself transform in to a role she must play #setstories #Emergency.”
Also starring Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry, Shreyas Talpade and Anupam Kher, Emergency went on floors in July this year. We can’t wait to watch it!
