Prabhas' Kalki 2898 AD is a winner
It's Kalki fever everywhere, and we cannot keep calm! The Prabhas-starrer, which released on June 27, has successfully managed to mint impressive numbers at the box office, with all the language versions doing exceptionally well. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the sci-fi dystopian film has managed to break records in India and overseas, emerging as a blockbuster of 2024 and has even entered the record-breaking Rs 500-crore club. Here’s how much the film collected on day 4 of its release:

According to the film's official handle, the Prabhas-starrer collected approximately ₹191.5 crore on its opening day. Although the film witnessed a drop in numbers at the start of the weekend, the movie saw massive footfall on the first Sunday of its release. On day 3, the film minted around ₹85 crore, bringing its total to ₹500 crore worldwide. The film has also entered the ₹300 crore club in India in just 4 days. The sci-fi film has been breaking several records since it hit the big screens on June 27 in multiple languages in 2D and 3D.

Kalki 2898 AD sequel to release in 2027?
Earlier, on the opening day of its release, the makers of the film announced that a sequel was set to be announced soon and rightly so, director Nag Ashwin confirmed that the sequel of the sci-fi spectacle was already in the works.
In a media statement, producer Ashwini Dutt confirmed that while 60 percent of the work on the sequel has been completed, several major scenes still need to be shot. Hence, the makers have been tight-lipped about the exact release date of the second installment. However, during a recent live chat on his social media handles, director Ashwin hinted that fans may just have to wait until 2027 for the much-awaited sequel. The makers reportedly may take up to three years to complete the second installment.

Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani, Anna Ben, Pasupathy, Shobana, Saswata Chatterjee, and Brahmanandam star in Kalki 2898 AD. The film, helmed by Nag Ashwin, also featured popular faces making cameo appearances such as Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, Vijay Deverakonda, Ram Gopal Varma, SS Rajamouli, and Malavika Nair.
