Jagathy Sreekumar to make his comeback in Mammootty's CBI 5

The Highly anticipated Fifth installment in the iconic Malayalam CBI franchise has started production with Mammotty set to reprise his role as chief investigator Sethurama Iyer after 16 years.

Actor Jagathy Sreekumar who after a car accident in 2012 has been in bedridden since then and taken a break from acting leaving a void in the Malayalam industry that has not been filled, known for incredible comic timing and his dramatic roles the actor is a household name in Kerala and while there have always been rumors of his return this his return as Vikram is the first official news fans have received of his comeback

In an exclusive interview with Kerala Kaumadi, the makers of the movie confirmed his return to acting much to the delight of fans, The CBI franchise was written by S.N Swamy and directed by K.Madhu and started in 1988 with the critically acclaimed ' Oru CBI Diary Kurippu in which the now-iconic role of investigator Sethurama Iyer was seen of the big screen for the first time the movie went on to spawn three sequels with the last one 'Nerariyan CBI' in 2005

Actor Aju Varghese reposted the news on Facebook, The movie has a working title of The CBI Diary black investigators and is set to release some time in 2022
