Ahead of its release, the makers have opened the advance booking and witnessed an amazing response from the fans. So far, the film has earned Rs 2 crore from the advance booking. The latest report suggests that the makers have got its first ever 5:55 am show in Mumbai. Shah Rukh's fan club and SRK Universe have organised special shows of the films on over 1000 screens worldwide, which is a record for any Hindi actor.

The film revolves around a group of friends who use a backdoor process to move to another country, and then struggle to return home. Besides Shah Rukh, the film also has Taapsee Pannu, Vikram Kochhar and Boman Irani in pivotal roles. Vicky Kaushal is set to make a special appearance in the film.
Dunki is all set to hit the silver screens a day ahead of Prabhas and Prashanth Neel's mega actioner, Salaar, which has been scheduled to release on December 22, 2023.
