According to a new report, the filming of the highly anticipated Kamla Haasan starrer Indian 2 will be wrapping up this month.
The movie was initially expected to wrap up filming in August but director Shankar and his team will be finishing ahead of schedule.
Recently Kamal Hassan praised the director on his work in the sequel after watching an early rough cut of the movie.
Director Shankar's Indian 2 had to face multiple delays in its production the first due to the pandemic, followed by an accident on the sets, and finally over a dispute with the producers of the movie.
It was only after the success of Kamal Haasan's Vikram, which went on to not only be one of the biggest hits of 2022 but also one of the biggest hits of the actor's career that Indian 2 found its second wind.
Indian 2 is the sequel to the 1996 vigilante thriller and was the highest-grossing movie of the year, The movie was India's official entry for the Oscars that year and also won three National Awards including Best Actor.
In the movie, Kamal Haasan played the role of Senapathy a former freedom fighter turned vigilante who wants to root out corruption.
The cast of the movie includes Kamal Haasan, Kajal Aggarwal Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Gulshan Grover, Nedumudi Venu, and Vivek.
Indian 2 is eyeing a Pongal 2024 release date, which means that the movie may be clashing with Suriya Kanguva and Prabhas's Project K.
Speaking of Project K, Kamala Haasan has signed on to play the main antagonist of the movie and the producers have reportedly offered the actor a whopping 150 crores for the role, which will be shot over a 20-day schedule.
Project K has a massive star cast, including the legendary Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani.
The movie is produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, with a massive budget of 500 crores, and will have a mix of practical and visual effects.
