Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan, Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Khushi Kapoor on Sunday unveiled the trailer of The Archies in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The star kids along with co-stars Vedang Raina, Yuvraj Menda, Mihir Ahuja and Dot also took to the stage of the Netflix live global event Tudum to perform the song ‘Sunoh.’

Set in 1964 in Riverdale, a fictional hill station in India, the gang of teenagers-Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, Ethel and Dilton. chronicles through many phases and emotions of young adulthood. As soon as the trailer dropped, the netizens chimed in to point out aberrations in the setting and other aspects of the movie.

While one of the users wrote, “Showing past Era of India or Europe??? Trying to show 80s of India as European clothing.. is it another Bollywood movie with good looks n songs but horrible story.” The second user stated, “So you are saying India was more developed n looked like Europe in 60s , what a joke.” The third user added, “Nepotism effect. The Archies is the live-action musical based on the characters of the popular American comics of the same name. During the trailer launch in brazil, director Zoya Akhtar said, “I am extremely excited for audiences to step into Riverdale in the 60s, meet the young Anglo-Indian kids on the block and groove with The Archies gang.” The film is set to stream on Netflix soon.
