Govinda Naam Mera song Pappi Jhappi: Vicky Kaushal and Kiara Advani’s cute chemistry makes up for the silly lyrics

We have witnessed Vicky Kaushal shine as several different characters on-screen in the last few years. He was intense as Major Vihaan in Uri: The Surgical Strike, whereas in Manmarziyaan he was a confused lover. With Sanju he gave us a taste of his quirky side as well. Much to our delight, Vicky is now all set to win us over in his next release Govinda Naam Mera , which is his first ever comedy thriller. After the fun trailer and three songs, another new track has now been dropped, which is titled Pappi Jhappi .

Also starring Vicky aka Govinda Waghmare’s girlfriend Suku, played by Kiara Advani , this song has been helmed by Meet Bros and Harry Arora. The colorful music video begins with the two entering in a car, twinning and winning in purple outfits. While the music has a feel-good vibe, the lyrics are quite silly and make little sense. But Vicky and Kiara look adorable together, so their super cute chemistry makes up for it. The two will be seen as choreographers in the film, so their dance moves are obviously on point.

Honestly, Pappi Jhappi is a letdown when you look at the previous tracks Bijli and Kyaa Baat Haii 2.0. But it has not in any way affected our excitement for Govinda Naam Mera, which also stars the very versatile Bhumi Pednekar as Vicky’s on-screen hotty wife Gauri Waghmare. Backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, the comedy thriller is being directed by Shashank Khaitan. It will be taking the digital route and will arrive on streaming platform Disney+Hotstar on 16th December.

The original star cast of Govinda Naam Mera consisted of Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor along with Bhumi. However, the project was shelved because of the pandemic and later the star cast was changed. Well, fans have no complaints with the new team after watching the trailer!
