Govinda Naam Mera song Kyaa Baat Haii 2.0: Apart from Vicky & Kiara’s moves, this track has nothing on Harrdy Sandhu’s original

After winning us over with their chemistry in Lust Stories, Vicky Kaushal and Kiara Advani are coming together as on-screen lovers in the upcoming film Govinda Naam Mera . Ahead of the comedy thriller’s release, the two actors left us impressed with their performance in the first two music videos. The third track titled Kyaa Baat Haii 2.0 was dropped today. It is a rebooted version of Harrdy Sandhu ’s 2018 song, but sadly it is nothing compared to the original. Here’s why!

Kiara and Vicky will be seen as choreographers in the film. Well, their killer dance moves on Kyaa Baat Haii 2.0 along with their sizzling chemistry is a must watch, but the track is not as easy on the ears as the original was. The 2018 song was smooth and had a sexy vibe going on while Harrdy tried to woo Carolina Moura in a colorful music video. Vicky and Kiara’s version is more upbeat but the lyrics as well as the music fail to impress. The two are delightful together, but the same can’t be said about the song.

But we have to admit, the last one minute with Vicky and Kiara dancing on dhol beats and Harrdy’s Punjabi rap makes up for the rest of the song. All in all, Kyaa Baat Haii 2.0 is not a total disappointment. Well, so far we have seen three songs from the film featuring Vicky and Kiara. But we are now eagerly waiting for a track with the other female lead-- the gorgeous and versatile Bhumi Pednekar , who is playing Vicky aka Govinda’s on-screen wife Gauri. She was very impressive in the trailer and her banter with Vicky was a treat to watch.

Helmed by Shashank Khaitan and backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma, Govinda Naam Mera will arrive on Disney+Hotstar on 16th December. How excited are you to watch this comedy thriller?
