A journalist who shared a video from the event wrote on Instagram, “And it’s a close … #gangubaikathiawadi intense and moving. @aliaabhatt has outdone herself. And it’s an out and out #sanjayleelabhansali #film #worldpremiere #moviepremiere #berlinale #indianight.”
A review shared by the French website Le Polyester for Gangubai Kathiawadi described the movie as, “In a society where movie stars are deified, Gangubai becomes more than a heroine: a deity. With its succession of flamboyant shenanigans and deceitful cross-dressing characters, along with its irresistible heroine and charismatic actress (Alia Bhatt), Gangubai Kathiawadi seems like the film adaptation of the phrase Yas Queen . We want more, we want more than to admire Gangubai: we want to be her.”
While the Berlinale premiere has only heightened of Indian fans for Gangubai Kathawadi, the Indian cinegoers will be able to see the film in cinemas on 25 February.
