About Gandhi Talks
From the earlier released glimpse of the film, Gandhi Talks follows multiple tracks involving handling money. According to reports, the movie explores the financial struggles of a character and the significant impact these have on the lives of those around him. The plot revolves around an unemployed graduate desperate to find a job by any means, whose life changes after he encounters a businessman and a petty thief.
Speaking about the film, Vijay Sethupathi expressed his excitement for audiences to experience this unique genre. He also mentioned that making a silent film required considerable effort, as engaging the audience without dialogue is a challenge. Vijay assured that he has done his best to provide an engaging cinematic experience with Gandhi Talks.
Meanwhile, director Kishor emphasized that the silent film is not a gimmick but a distinct form of storytelling. He explained that conveying emotions without dialogue is both a risky and challenging task, but also an interesting one.
In addition to the lead cast, the film’s music is composed by Academy Award-winning composer AR Rahman.
The film previously premiered at the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), held in Goa last year. It also became the first silent film to be screened at the film festival.
