Gadar 2 Vs OMG 2 Box Office: Both films do better on Day 2, but Sunny paaji triumphs over Khiladi Akshay Kumar

Two much awaited film sequels arrived in theatres last Friday– Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 and OMG 2 starring Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi. As expected, one movie did much better than the other in this clash. Gadar 2 not only received rave reviews but also collected Rs 40.10 crore at the box office, emerging as the second-highest opener this year after Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback film Pathaan. Meanwhile OMG 2 was lauded for its strong concept and powerful performances. But it received a lukewarm opening day collection of Rs 10.26 crore.

Well, the estimates of day 2 are here and both the films have done extremely well. They have managed to collect even more money at the ticket windows than they did on opening day, which means the weekend looks great so far for both. But yet again, Sunny paaji as Tara Singh managed to triumph over Bollywood’s Khiladi Akshay’s film. Meanwhile, according to the latest report shared by Sacnilk Entertainment, Gadar 2 is unstoppable and has collected over Rs 43 crore at the box office. There is no competition between the two films as they are vastly different when it comes to the concept and target audience. But if numbers are being considered, then the Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer is definitely the winner.

In Gadar 2, Sunny aka Tara returns to Pakistan to rescue his son Jeete and fights like a one man army. OMG 2, on the other hand, follows a man’s battle against society with Lord Shiva’s doot supporting him. Which film are you planning to watch this weekend?
