Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer aerial actioner is holding its fort strong at the box office ever since it was released on January 25, 2024. The film had a bumper opening and in extended weekend, crossed Rs 100 crore-mark at the domestic box office. However, the film has shown downward trends as soon it entered its first week. On Day 6, it further declined, taking the total domestic collection to Rs 134.25 crore as of now.
According to Sacnilk, the film recorded Rs 7.75 crore and had overall Hindi occupancy of 12.77% Hindi Occupancy on Tuesday (Day 6). On Monday, the film registered a drop of 72 per cent, earning Rs 8 crore at the box office. For the unversed, the film collected Rs 22.5 crore on the opening day, followed by Rs 39.5 crore, Rs 27.5 crore and 29 crore on Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Earlier, trade analyst Taran Adarsh said, “The biz of #Fighter is clearly divided… While urban centres range from excellent to very good, the mass pockets / single screens haven’t tapped its real potential… Post *extended weekend*, the biz needs to stay strong across metros, non-metros and mass belt.”
Fighter has been receiving love and appreciation from all corners for its engaging storyline and power-packed actions. In the latest, actor R Madhavan hailed the movie on Twitter. He wrote, “@justSidAnand —-What an extraordinary film #Fighter is …with brilliant work by all concerned … Take a bow the entire cast and crew.. you guys have given Indian cinema a fantastic, super motivating, moving, and an archival film. This is simply going to be a hallmark of how truly international Indian cinema has become today. @iHrithik @deepikapadukone @AnilKapoor.”
Directed by Siddharth Anand, Fighter has references to the 2019 Pulwama attack, 2019 Balakot airstrike and 2019 India-Pakistan border clashes. The film also stars Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi in prominent roles.
