Updated : January 31, 2024 09:56 AM ISTThe Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter faced to pass the litmus test on its first Monday. It earned in single digits which might be bad news for the movie.
The Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter had everyone’s expectations soaring high up ever since it witnessed a Republic Day release on January 25, 2024. Even though it started slow, the movie enjoyed a good weekend which enabled it to cross Rs 100 crore. However, the movie failed to pass its litmus test by which we mean the first Monday collections.
Talking about the same, according to a news report in Sacnilk, Fighter earned Rs 8 crore. It was of utmost importance for the movie to maintain double-digit figures to have a solid run at the box office. However, with this alarming dip to single-digit figures, it seems like the journey ahead for this Siddharth Anand directorial might be tough. The total collections of the movie now stand at Rs 126.50 crore. While the global box office numbers now read at Rs 220 crore.
Fighter is underperforming majorly as compared to Siddharth’s last directorial venture Pathaan which starred Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. The YRF spy film earned a whopping Rs 534 crore. Not only this but Hrithik’s last actioner War also had a collection of Rs 318 crore which was again directed by Anand. The movie which also starred Tiger Shroff had minted Rs 21.50 crore on its first Monday.
Well, now it will be interesting to witness whether Fighter shows any signs of pacing things up. Only an increase in the collections will initiate a smooth flight for this ariel actioner. The movie is a tribute to the Indian Air Force, based against the backdrop of the Pulwama attacks. The movie also stars Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi, Rishabh Sawhney, and Sanjeeda Sheikh in the lead roles. The movie marks the first collaboration of Hrithik and Deepika on the big screen.
