'Farhad Samji to gya': Akshay Kumar returns with comedy franchise Housefull 5 in Diwali 2024, netizens react

Actor Akshay Kumar on Friday left her fans excited with the announcement of his comedy franchise Housefull 5. The upcoming fifth instalment will be helmed by Tarun Mansukhani unlike Farhad Samji, who directed the 2019 film Housefull 4. As soon as the news broke, the netizens spammed the microblogging site with mixed reactions.

Taking to Twitter, Akshay shared the announcement poster with the caption that read, “Get ready for FIVE times the madness! Bringing to y'all #SajidNadiadwala’s #Housefull5 Directed by @Tarunmansukhani See you in cinemas on Diwali 2024! @Riteishd @NGEMovies @WardaNadiadwala.” The film will retain actor Riteish Deshmukh, however, the rest of the cast members are yet to be decided.

For the unversed, Farhad Samji replaced Sajid Khan as director after the latter was accused of sexual harassment. The film had Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde, Kriti Kharbanda, Chunky Panday and Rana Daggubati in pivotal roles apart from Akshay and Riteish Deshmukh. The fourth instalment revolved around three brothers who are set to marry three sisters, however, their brides have been mixed up in their current reincarnation.

Talking about the upcoming fifth instalment, producer Sajid Nadiadwala, who has reportedly planned to create a ‘Housefull universe’ by bringing all the actors under one roof, has finally locked the plot to justify the presence of the characters. Housefull 5 is set for Diwali 2024 release.
