Duniya Vijay recalls emotional meeting with Rajinikanth: 'I was crying like a baby...'
Duniya Vijay, a devoted fan of Superstar Rajinikanth, recently shared a touching story about a memorable meeting with the legend during the early years of his career.

Duniya Vijay is a huge fan of Superstar Rajinikanth. While promoting his upcoming movie, Bheema, Vijay recalled a memorable meeting he had with Rajinikanth during the very early years of his career.
"He (Rajinikanth) will embrace only those who become close to his heart. I saw a Yogi in Rajini, sir. I saw a person who was fully spiritually awake," Vijay said, while reacting to a photo of him with Rajinikanth.
Vijay went on to recount the story behind the photo. He started playing minor roles in the early 2000s in Kannada cinema. He got his first major break with the 2006 romantic tragedy, Duniya. The film was a smash hit. So much so that Rajinikanth watched the movie in a Bengaluru theatre in disguise.

Soon after, Vijay was informed that he would get a phone call from Rajinikanth. After learning about the impending call, Vijay wasted no time. He travelled to Chennai overnight and informed Rajinikanth's team about his arrival in the city.
"Rajinikanth sir called me to his place. He was there listening to some sermons. As soon as I entered the venue, he stood up and called my name. I was shaking. I was crying like a baby for about 25 minutes. When I was about to leave, he took this photo with me and sent me home," he recalled.

Rajinikanth is known for reaching out to filmmakers and actors who impress him and appreciating their talents. Recently, he even hosted Kannada filmmaker-actor Rishab Shetty following the success of Kantara.
Rajinikanth grew up in Bengaluru and is fluent in Kannada. He watches Kannada movies and lends his support to promote the industry.
