Lucky Baskhar
Actor Dulquer Salmaan has much to celebrate this Deepavali, as his latest movie, Lucky Baskhar, is exceeding expectations in ticket sales and emerging as one of the biggest commercial successes of his career.
It has been revealed that Netflix has secured the streaming rights to Lucky Baskhar. Based on past trends, it’s likely that the movie will hit streaming after completing a four-week theatrical run.

Lucky Baskhar is one of the biggest hits in Telugu cinema this year. The film marks Dulquer’s third solo outing in Telugu cinema (and his fourth, if including his cameo in director Nag Ashwin's epic sci-fi fantasy, Kalki 2898 AD). While Dulquer has faced some setbacks in Malayalam cinema, his track record in Telugu cinema has been spotless in terms of commercial success.
Made at a budget of Rs 30 crore, Lucky Baskhar is on track to surpass the Rs 50 crore mark within its opening weekend, with the potential to post even higher numbers before moving to streaming.
The film could benefit from an extended theatrical run but currently faces box office competition from multiple fronts. The Tamil action drama Amaran, starring Sivakarthikeyan, the small-budget, high-concept KA, and two major Bollywood films—Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3—are all contending for audience attention. Together, these releases, featuring a lineup of Bollywood A-listers, are impacting Lucky Baskhar's box office potential. However, glowing reviews and strong word of mouth are expected to sustain Lucky Baskhar's box office run and bolster its earnings before the streaming debut.
Lucky Baskhar is written and directed by Venky Atluri and is set against the backdrop of 1980s Mumbai. The film follows a hard-working bank employee who, struggling to make ends meet, begins to bend the rules of his profession to overcome financial hardships.
