Shankar's Indian 2 was a flop
Producer Dil Raju remains confident about his upcoming production venture Game Changer, starring Telugu superstar Ram Charan and directed by Shankar. He is unfazed by the commercial disaster of Shankar's highly anticipated film Indian 2 , suggesting that "Game Changer is a proper Shankar movie."
Indian 2, starring Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan, was expected to be one of the biggest hits in Indian cinema this year. However, it ended up being a huge commercial and critical disaster. When Raju was asked whether he was concerned about the results of Indian 2, he expressed confidence in Game Changer's potential to resonate with the masses.

"Game Changer is a proper commercial movie with six songs, fights, a hero, a villain, and it also has a social message. It's Shankar sir's grandeur. The post-production is going on, and it will come out during Christmas," Raju told a Tamil news channel.
Indian 2 was plagued with numerous issues, and many claimed that it didn’t feel like a "Shankar film." The movie was trashed by critics and audiences alike, who criticized Shankar for ruining the legacy of one of Indian cinema’s most beloved movies. This film was the sequel to the 1996 classic Indian and was released amid huge expectations. However, Shankar faced heavy criticism for the colossal mess he created with Indian 2.
Fans, however, are hopeful that Indian 3 will make up for the damage caused to the memory of Indian.
In the meantime, Raju is also in the process of mounting two major projects that will be high on both VFX and scale. "I have already locked in two scripts, and those projects will begin in 2026. The pre-production work for these projects is ongoing. One of the projects has been titled Jatayu, which is inspired by the Ramayana. It's a social fantasy, a pan-Indian movie," he added.
