Deepika Padukone's new Cannes look reminded netizens of Ranveer Singh's Alauddin Khilji

Actor Deepika Padukone , who is currently at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, has been enthralling her fans with stunning pictures. Recently, the actress grabbed attention in a black-brown body-hugging gown with heavily feathered cape sleeves. And her husband Ranveer Singh was left completely impressed, however, netizens came up with mixed reactions.

The Ram Leela actress took to her Instagram and dropped a series of pictures in which she can be seen posing in a Louis Vuitton slender bodycon gown. She accessorised her look with simple earrings and minimal makeup. Soon after Ranveer reacted to it and wrote, ‘QUEEN’ in the comment section.

On the other hand, some of the social media users loved her look, few users took to her comment section and wrote that she is trying to be like her husband Ranveer. Another wrote that her outfit was taken from his character Alauddin Khilji's wardrobe in Padmaavat . Some even compared her outfit to snakeskin and Aladdin’s magic carpet.

For the unversed, Padmaavat is the 2018 period drama directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali which stars Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor , and Ranveer Singh. In the film, Ranveer plays ruthless antagonist Alauddin Khilji who declares war due to obsession with Queen Padmaavat played by Deepika.

Earlier, Deepika was trolled for wearing an unmanageable orange dress with a long tail. As she walked the red carpet, she was seen struggling throughout. Few of her jury members also helped her with the dress, reacting to which netizens called it a big embarrassment and questioned her outfit. Besides her outfits, netizens also called her out for her confusing a journalist at the festival with her answers.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Deepika was last seen in Shakun Batra ’s Gehraiyaan alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday . She will next be seen in Siddharth Anand’s action thriller Pathan opposite Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham.
