Updated : November 05, 2022 02:11 PM ISTA debate launched on Twitter as post its OTT release Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's Brahmastra was compared to Rishab Shetty's Kantara by a user.
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt led Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva is out on Disney+ Hotstar after an excellent run in cinemas and has reportedly seen recording breaking traction on the OTT platform. The movie once again became a big trend on Twitter post it’s digital release, however, one user called the movie better than Rishab Shetty ’s Kannada trail blazer Kantara in a comparison and made room for a huge debate.
Kantara which is currently running in cinemas and has been enjoying an excellent run since it’s release pre-Diwali, is also headed for an OTT release later this month. Directed and led by Rishab Shetty, Kantara garnered the attention of the entire nation after its initial Kannada only release. From celebrities to audiences, folks can’t stop raving about Kantara which was released in cinemas in Hindi a few weeks after its initial release in September.
Both films are highly visual and being some of the most talked about pieces of cinema this year, however, as a user called Brahmastra better than Kantara, netizens expressed some rather strong reactions.
Sharing collages with stills from Ranbir’s Brahmastra, the user wrote, “I think #Brahmastra was better than kantara.” The tweet attracted a lot of attention and several fans of Kantara came down heavily on the user for drawing the comparison. While some felt that comparing a big budget film like Brahmastra to a much smaller budget film like Kantara which has gained attention through word of mouth was highly unfair.
Some even felt that the whole comparison was unnecessary in the first place given how different both are. It was emphasised by a few how Brahmastra was heavy on VFX visually while it wasn’t the case with Kantara. Others also debated the stories of both weighing the merits of both films.
That's why your thoughts doesn't matter.Aur kantara ko kisi ki introduction ya promotion ki jarurat nahi Brahmastra ki trh.

I completely respect this opinion, Kantara is really great, Brahmastra also set up it's standards

16cr is not equal to 450cr 😏

And kantara is not comparable to brahmastra on the basis of VFX it's like comparing a proper movie to KRK made movie !!
Kantara me VFX tha kya.... Koun sa comparison kar rahe ho be ....all movies are not about VFX ... Get well soon

You're way of comparing the VFX is illogical. You're comparing a 16Cr budget movie with a 450Cr budget movie. The collections & the folds at which both were received by the audience & the critics says it all.

Brahmastra was a VFX heavy movie. A grandeur India had not witnessed before on such a grand scale.

There is no comparison they are diff genre movies . Kantara is not a love story Brahmastra ( a fantastic story turned into a love story later ) . Remember Kantara was made with a budget less that 1/10 th of budget of Brahmastra - No comparison . PS - I liked both the movies
