Guru Somasundaram’s upcoming comedy-drama Bottle Radha, which was supposed to hit the big screens on December 20, has now been postponed to a later release date. The makers of the upcoming Tamil film have announced the new release date as January 24, 2024.
Sharing the update, the makers wrote, “All the chaos, craziness, and atrocities of our Radhamani bottled for a different day 🍾 Get ready to witness the life of our #BottleRadha from Jan 24, 2024 🍻 #BottleRadhaFromJan24.”

The announcement was accompanied by a heartwarming poster featuring the lead stars, Guru Somasundaram and Sanchana Natarajan, enjoying a sip of tea while smiling at each other. Unlike earlier posters where the protagonist Guru Somasundaram is depicted with alcohol, this new poster portrays him in a sober state, further building anticipation among cinephiles about the film's storyline.

Directed by debutant Dhinakaran Sivalingam, the film is produced under Pa Ranjith's home banner, Neelam Productions. Sanchana Natarajan plays the role of Guru Somasundaram's wife in the film.
The story revolves around Guru Somasundaram’s character, Radha, a chronic alcoholic. Touted as a comedy-drama, the plot explores Radha’s struggle with addiction. His wife, unable to cope with his drinking problem, sends him to rehab. However, Radha finds it challenging to adapt to the facility’s strict rules, eventually plotting a desperate escape plan. The film delves into his journey toward overcoming addiction and finding a path to a better life.
Bottle Radha was previously screened at the 12th Dharamshala International Film Festival (DIFF) in 2023.
In addition to the lead cast, the film features John Vijay, Merku Thodarchi Malai Antony, and Lollu Sabha Maaran in supporting roles. The movie has been simultaneously shot in both Tamil and Malayalam.
