Mari Selvaraj about Bison
The first-look poster and title of the much-awaited project of actor Dhruv Vikram and director Mari Selvaraj Bison were released yesterday, May 6. While many reports state that the film is based on Arjuna Award recipient and Kabbadi player Manathi Ganesh, director Mari Selvarj has now cleared up speculations surrounding the film’s plot.
According to the Maamannan director, Bison is a fictional story that is based on Kabaddi. He also emphasised that he wanted to work with a completely new team and is currently shooting a 60-day schedule in Tirunelveli. The team is expected to begin the next schedule in Chennai once it wraps up the Tirunalveli schedule.
More about Bison
Directed by Mari Selvaraj, Bison stars Dhruv Vikram, Anupama Prameswarana and Rajisha Vijayan in lead roles. The sports drama is backed by Applause Entertainment and Pa Ranjith's Neelam Productions. This is the second collaboration between Ranjith and Mari Selvaraj after the 2018 superhit Pariyerum Perumal.
The first-look poster for Bison features an enormous statue of a Bison, and standing before it is Dhruv Vikram, who is seen kneeling in a three-point position. Although his face isn't very clear, it appears that the young actor is gearing up to unleash his strength in this power-packed Kabaddi film.

Chiyaan Vikram attend Bison's puja ceremony
Dhruv has been preparing to get into the skin of a Kabbadi player by training to play the game. His physical transformation is certainly visible in the first-look poster. The film’s puja ceremony took place yesterday and was attended by actor Chiyaan Vikram, who is Dhruv's father.
Interestingly, Bison was supposed to go on floors before Mari Selvaraj’s 2023 outing, Maamannan. However, actor-politician Udhayanidhi had requested that his movie be filmed first, as he wanted to complete his acting commitments before fully focusing on his political career. Hence, Dhruv Vikram's film Bison got pushed to 2024.
