Barbie Oppenheimer
The Barbieheimer clash continues in full swing both in the Indian and the global box office market. On its fourth day, Oppenheimer continued to race way ahead of Barbie in the Indian box office sphere. However, the international box office circuit tells a different story.
Talking about the same, the Margot Robbie starrer saw a significant drop in the collections on its fourth day (July 24). The movie earned only Rs 2.5 crore. The film opened at Rs 5 crore on its first day and then went on to amass Rs 6.5 crore and Rs 7.15 crore on its second and third days. However, the fourth day saw a stark decrease in the collections. The total collections of the Greta Gerwig directorial now stand at Rs 21.15 crore. However, the movie is certainly ruling the roost on the global market. The movie has earned around a whopping $356 million and is racing past Oppenheimer. The film has toppled the Christopher Nolan starrer, especially in Brazil wherein it earned $17.6 million.
On the other hand, Oppenheimer is certainly winning hearts in the Indian box office circuit and has raced way ahead of Barbie. On its fourth day, the Cillian Murphy starrer has managed to enter the Rs 50 crore bracket. The movie amassed Rs 7 crore on its first Monday. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 55.75 crore. The Christopher Nolan starrer had seen an opening of Rs 14.5 crore. It went on to earn Rs 17 and Rs 17.25 crore on its second and third day. The movie had earlier earned around Rs 49 crore already with its weekend collections. However, when it comes to the global market, it is lagging behind Barbie and has managed to earn $180 million. Nevertheless, the Barbieheimer battle is certainly an engaging one.
The clash between the two movies has been so hyped because of the extreme differences in the genres. Barbie is a metaphorical take on feminism under the garb of our favorite age-old doll. While Oppenheimer on the other hand, is based on the life of Robert Oppenheimer who was known as the father of the Atomic Bomb.
