Atrangi Re Twitter Review: Netizens share their verdict; laud Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan’s performance

Aanand L. Rai’s directorial Atrangi Re was undoubtedly one of the most awaited films of the year. Featuring the gorgeous Sara Ali Khan , South superstar Dhanush and Bollywood’s Khiladi Akshay Kumar in the lead, the musical romantic drama promised us an intriguing story along with a star cast as quirky and exciting as the title itself. The trailer won our hearts whereas AR Rahman’s soulful music left us wanting more. Well much to our delight, Atrangi Re premiered on Disney + Hotstar today. Most fans have already binge-watched the film and by the looks of their reviews, it is more or less a Christmas present for movie lovers.

Since morning, reviews have been pouring in on social media from all over the country! One fan wrote: “Just watched #AtrangiRe, loved it. Brilliant performance by everyone and @SaraAliKhan was the soul of the film, her best performance according to me, @dhanushkraja did a fantastic job and had his moments of shine, @akshaykumar had a small part but impactful @arrahman music is .” Meanwhile, another shared, “#AtrangiRe was a mediocre movie that relies lot on Dhanush and AR Rahman. Sara Ali Khan played her character to perfect, Akshay Kumar was decent. The interesting idea fails to reflect on the screen as the screenplay lacks big time in the latter half. Overall, a decent movie!”

The way mental trauma/illness has been shown in #AtrangiRe is deeply flawed and problematic. However, the film is a beautiful ride. #SaraAliKhan has delivered a terrific performance n #Dhanush is simply a genius. #ARRahman's music is one of the high points of this 'magical' tale.

All the performances were top notch. Nothing over the top, just magic and @arrahman 's music adding to the soul of this movie.

While some netizens loved the story-line, others experienced mixed emotions about the way certain issues have been tackled in this film. But there is one thing that all members of the audience have agreed to-- Sara delivers her best performance till date as Rinku Sooryavanshi whereas Dhanush has killed it! Akshay, on the other hand, is like cherry on a cake.
