Tamil superstar Chiyaan Vikram has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to fans for making his latest release, Thangalaan, a massive success at the box office. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the film has grossed over Rs 63 crore within just four days of its release.
Speaking at the success meet in Chennai on Monday, Vikram reflected on his journey as an actor. "I usually take a few years to make a movie. I get obsessed with the movies, just discuss the script for six months and take another six months to physically transform for the characters. It takes about two years, and sometimes it may be delayed further. Nobody is to be blamed," he said, explaining the painstaking process he undergoes for each role.
Vikram also touched upon the pressure he feels from fans to deliver more films at a faster pace. "My fans keep asking me to do more movies quickly. And for them, I did three movies at the same time: Mahaan, Cobra, and Ponniyin Selvan. And all of these movies had the same hairstyle and get-up. It was a challenge for me to do three different roles in the same getup," he shared, adding a note of regret about the commercial failure of Cobra.

"Some things we do don't work out. We may not know why because we are no gods. But, I would have acted so well in some scenes in Cobra. But, only when a movie becomes a hit do those things get highlighted," he rued.
Despite the ups and downs, Vikram expressed immense satisfaction with the recognition he has received for his performance in Thangalaan. "That is why I am overjoyed when people acknowledge and appreciate the effort that went into playing this role in Thangalaan," he said.
The actor also took a moment to appreciate the success of Demonte Colony 2, congratulating his colleagues Arulnithi and Ajay Gnanamuthu. Reflecting on his body of work, Vikram noted, "Mahaan, Ponniyin Selvan two parts, and now Thangalaan all prove one thing—that I am travelling on a road less taken. I will face a lot of obstacles and challenges travelling on that path, but when a movie made like that becomes a hit, nothing else can match that joy. I got that in Thangalaan."
