After the much-talked-about Kishkindha Kaandam, Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali are reuniting for a film with Jeethu Joseph who is best known for his Drishyam movies. The makers on Monday officially announced the project, which has been titled Mirage.

Asif Ali, who had earlier starred in Jeethu Joseph directorial Kooman, shared the motion poster on his social media page recently. The Kishkindha Kaandam actor wrote in caption: "Excited to reunite with Jeethu Joseph after Kooman for a brand new cinematic journey! Can’t wait to share this with you all! Stay tuned for more.”

Jeethu Joseph has also jointly scripted the movie with Srinivas Abrolbased on a story by Aparna R Tarakad.On the technical front, Satheesh Kurup serves as the cinematographer, while V S Vinayak is the editor. Vishnu Shyam has been roped in as the music director.
Jeethu Joseph’s films with Asif Ali, Aparna Balamurali
Both Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali have also collaborated with Jeethu Joseph individually on separate projects. Asif Ali played the lead role in Jeethu Joseph’s Kooman, which released in 2022. Renji Panicker, Jaffar Idukki, and Baburaj also appeared in key roles in the film, a thriller. Asif Ali played the role of a cop, Giri, in the movie. Interestingly, Asif Alis is currently awaiting the release of Rekhachithram, where he will be again seen in the role of a cop. Rekhachithram, which also stars Anaswara Rajan, will release in theatres on January 9, 2025.
On the other hand, Aparna Balamurali starred in the lead role in Mr. & Ms. Rowdy, directed by Jeethu Joseph. The film also starred Kalidas Jayaram, along with Ganapathi and Shebin Benson
Both Asif and Aparna starred in Kishkindha Kaandam in 2024. Despite being a slow-burn thriller, the film had a good run at the box office and emerged as Asif Ali’s highest-grossing film in his career.
