Article 370 vs Crakk
Last Friday movie lovers were spoilt for choice when two Bollywood films arrived in theatres near them. This also meant a major competition at the box office. In Article 370, actress Yami Gautam returned to the big screen as an intelligence officer. Helmed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, the film revolves around the Indian government’s decision to revoke the special status given to Jammu and Kashmir by the constitution. Article 370 saw a lukewarm opening day with a collection worth Rs 5.9 crore. Meanwhile Vidyut Jammwal and Arjun Rampal’s Crakk collected only Rs 4.25 crore on day one.
Also starring Nora Fatehi and Amy Jackson, Crakk follows the story of Siddharth aka Siddhu played by Jammwal, who enters an underground survival sports competition. Winning is important but his real aim is to unravel the mystery behind his brother’s death. Well, the first day numbers of both the Friday releases were not too impressive. However, according to the latest report shared by Sacnilk, Yami’s Article 370 saw a massive jump on day 2 after release. On Saturday, the film managed to collect around Rs 7.5 crore bringing the total collection of Article 370 to Rs 13.4 crore nett.
Sadly Arjun and Vidyut starrer sports action film did not enjoy a better collection on day 2. Instead of a jump, Crakk saw a dip in its collection. On Saturday, the film raked in only Rs 2.75 crore, bringing the total collection to Rs 7 crore. But there’s still some time so let’s wait and watch if the first Sunday brings the team any luck. As for the reviews, Crakk has received mixed to negative reactions from the audiences so far. However, Yami has received a standing ovation from netizens who are hailing Article 370 as her most powerful performance till date.
