Akshay Kumar's OMG 2 to see a decent opening, Gadar 2 heads for an astounding start according to early estimates

This week (August 11) will see the clash of two much-awaited sequels of blockbuster films namely Gadar 2 and OMG2. While Sunny Deol’s film is the sequel to the 2001 cult classic film Gadar, Akshay Kumar brings back the sequel of his hit 2012 film OMG which also starred Paresh Rawal in the lead role. Here is taking a look at the early advance box office updates of the two films which can help us get an idea of the opening box office report of the same.

Talking about the same, Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 is having an impressive advance box office collection which proves that the craze of Gadar has not faded away over the years. According to a news report in Pinkvilla, the film has sold 1700 tickets in PVR, 1200 tickets in Inox, and a whopping 5200 tickets in Cinepolis. These numbers started coming in even before the release week of the film ie by August 3, 2023. The numbers are expected to have increased even more now by today (August 5, 2023). According to these figures and the early estimates, the opening collections now stand at roughly Rs 25 crore which is astounding indeed.

Meanwhile, talking about Akshay Kumar’s OMG2, the advance collections are showing a vast improvement as compared to the previous box office duds of the actor over the past few months. A report in Pinkvilla stated that the film has sold 1100 tickets in PVR, 550 tickets in Inox, and 350 tickets in Cinepolis. Going by this, we can expect a decent double-digit opening number for the film.

Gadar 2 has Sunny Deol reprising his role as Tara Singh who is on a quest to bring his son back from Pakistan. Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma have also reprised their roles from the previous film. While OMG2 revolves around Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva’s messenger coming to save his devotee Pankaj Tripathi from a grave crisis.
