Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan is a much-awaited sports drama in which the actor will be seen playing the role of Indian football player Syed Abdul Rahim. Ever since the teaser dropped, fans have been eagerly waiting for its release. Now, the makers have finally locked the release date to be Eid 2024. It is the same day on which Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s actioner Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is set to arrive in theatres.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news on X(formerly known as Twitter). He tweeted, “AJAY DEVGN: 'MAIDAAN' TO ARRIVE THIS EID... #Maidaan - starring #AjayDevgn - gets a new release date: April 2024 #Eid... Directed by Amit Sharma,” he tweeted. Soon after, netizens rushed to the comment section to share their reactions.

Maidaan recounts the true story of the unsung hero, Syed Abdul Rahim, the coach and manager of the Indian football team from 1950 until his demise in 1963. Directed by Amit Sharma and produced by Boney Kapoor, the film had been struggling to finalise its release date ever since the COVID-19 pandemic. Apart from Ajay, the film also stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao and Rudranil Ghosh in pivotal roles.
On the other hand, Akshay and Tiger starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and backed by Pooja Entertainment and AAZ Films. The action thriller also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar and Alaya F in key roles.
