After the success of the 2018 film Raid, Ajay Devgn is all set to reprise the role of IRS officer Amay Patnaik in the sequel of the film titled Raid 2. This time, the no-nonsense officer has gotten a new tip and is ready to unravel a new case. The superstar will reunite with director Rajkumar Gupta and producers Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar for the ambitious project.
The movie is touted to celebrate the unsung heroes of the Income Tax Department. The movie will reportedly tell a true story based on one of the cases solved by the department. The shooting of the same has begun in Mumbai today (January 6) and it will be shot in other cities like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan.

Not only this but the release date of Raid 2 has also been out. The real-life crime flick will be released on November 15, 2024. The first poster which was shared by the makers has the title and release date of the movie etched in bold words. Above that, we can see Ajay’s character walking wherein only his shoes are visible. Take a look at the same.
Raid was also based on a real-life incident. It revolved around the Income Tax Department doing a raid on Sardar Inder Singh in the 1980s which turned out to be the longest raid in Indian history and lasted three days and two nights. The movie was a commercial success and was also lauded by the critics for its gripping direction and intense performances. The movie also starred Ileana D’cruz, Saurabh Shukla, and Amit Sial in pivotal roles. Meanwhile, on the work front, Ajay also has the much-awaited Singham Again by Rohit Shetty. He will also be seen in the biographical sports drama Maidaan.
