The much awaited trailer of Om Raut’s upcoming magnum opus Adipurush is finally here. After a preview screening in Hyderabad, the 3 minute and 19 seconds long clip was released on the internet today. Needless to say, it has taken social media by storm. While the teaser was brutally trolled for its animated VFX, fans feel that the trailer is far better. After taking a sneak peek into Prabhas and Kriti Sanon’s mythological film with this trailer, we definitely agree. The only complaint is– why does Saif Ali Khan have a blink and miss scene?
The trailer begins with a brief introduction of Lord Rama as Raghava by Hanuman, played by Devdatta Nage. Prabhas is impressive and will take you back to his majestic appearance in Baahubali. We then get a tiny glimpse of Saif as Lankesh. This is the scene where he disguises as an old beggar and abducts Maa Sita aka Janaki, portrayed by Kriti. While the actress fits into the character well, we can’t say much about Saif because this is the only scene where we get to see his face in the entire trailer. But his strong dialogue delivery is enough to make an impact. Sunny Singh has done a fine job as Lakshmana, but his Punjabi accent seems to creep in a little.
The VFX is impressive whereas the performances successfully gave fans goosebumps. In the comment section below, many netizens are now showering love. One comment read: “The way Adipurush team have worked hard and have taken all the suggestions shows their devotion towards our religious sentiments and they need to be applauded for this❤”, whereas another fan wrote: “These are just happy tears rolling down my cheeks. When the teaser was released back then the team faced so much criticism, but the wait seems worthy. God, this trailer seems so so so Good. The colour Grading is so brilliant. Can't wait to watch it on the grandest screen possible. Jai shree Ram 🚩🛐.”
We are also quite excited to see Adipurush on the big screen on 16th June. But we truly wish Saif had longer screen time in the trailer. Maybe this has something to do with the fact that his character’s look in the teaser was described as ‘too Mughal’ by trolls. What are your thoughts?
