Aarti Ravi breaks silence on divorce, accuses Jayam Ravi of one-sided decision: 'Shocked, saddened...'

In a startling turn of events, Aarti Ravi, wife of popular Tamil actor Jayam Ravi, has publicly addressed her husband’s recent divorce announcement, claiming that the decision was made without her knowledge or consent. In a heartfelt statement issued on Wednesday, Aarti expressed her deep shock and sadness over the sudden public declaration, which she says has blindsided both her and their children after 18 years of togetherness.

Aarti expressed regret over the handling of the situation and criticized the public nature of the announcement. She emphasized the lack of communication and her attempts to engage in a dialogue with her husband, which she says were ignored. “For some time, I have sought several opportunities to speak directly with my husband, hoping to have an open dialogue in a manner that honours the commitment we made to one another and to our family. Sadly, that opportunity was not afforded to me, leaving both my children and me completely blindsided by this announcement,” she said.

The statement comes in the wake of growing public discourse surrounding the couple’s personal life, fueled by Jayam Ravi’s recent declaration about the end of their 15-year marriage. Aarti highlighted her concerns about the negative impact this public narrative is having, especially on their children, who she says are her top priority.

“As a mother, my first priority is and always will be the well-being of my children. I cannot stand by while this narrative affects them, and I will not allow these unfounded allegations to go unaddressed,” Aarti asserted, defending herself against social media attacks that have placed blame on her for the breakdown of the marriage.

Aarti also maintained that despite the personal pain she has endured, she has chosen to remain “dignified and refrain from public comment” until now. She stressed that the portrayal of the situation has been unfair to her and reaffirmed her stance on preserving the integrity of her family.

“I trust that in time, the full context of our situation will be understood,” she added.
