What is Aadujeevitham all about?
Directed by acclaimed director Blessy, the survival drama is an adaptation of the 2008 best-selling Malayalam novel Aadujeevitham by Benyamin, which is based on the real-life story of Najeeb, a Malayali immigrant laborer, and his tragic tale. In the film, Najeeb Muhammed travels to Saudi Arabia when he is offered a job to make a better living. However, he finds himself trapped by an Arab who forces him to lead a slave-like life, herding goats in the middle of the desert for many years. The film narrates his struggles and his eventual escape from the control of his Arab employer.
Amala Paul plays the role of Najeeb’s wife Sainu, while Jimmy Jean-Louis, Rik Aby, and Talib al Balushi are seen in other key roles. The music for the film was composed by Academy Award-winning composer AR Rahman.
Upon its theatrical release, the film received massive reception from audiences and critics alike, who heaped praise on Prithviraj’s stellar performance and Blessy’s impressive execution. The film also raked in more than Rs 160 crores at the box office, making it the second biggest Malayalam blockbuster this year.
Fans who have been awaiting the OTT release of the film will finally get to witness Blessy’s magic on mini screens soon!
