The first trailer for Avatar; The Way of Water dropped earlier this year before the premiere of Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness and thanks to a new report by SFFGazette.com, we know the premiere date for the second trailer.
This is soon after the recent announcement about the massive runtime of the sequel. Which clocks it at 3 hours, and 10 minutes.
It's been confirmed that the second sneak peek will premiere during Wednesday's episode of the morning talk show Good Morning America, likely so that it can then be shown before the premiere of Marvel's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever the following week.
While we also got new footage in the post-credit scene last month when an enhanced edition of Avatar was re-released in theaters around the world to positive reactions.
Hopefully, we will get to know some plot details for the movie as well as see the new groundbreaking 3D effects, which have been hyped up by director James Cameron in recent interviews.
So far we know that the sequel is set ten years after the events of the first movie, where Jake and Neytiri, and their family are forced to leave their homeland after a new threat emerges o the planet of Pandora.
The movie stars Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, and Kate Winslet.
The recent re-release of Avatar not only managed to build up hype for the sequel but also push the movie over $2.9 billion at the box office.
The sequel has a budget of 250 million making it the most expensive movie ever made and James Cameron has started production on its three planned sequels.
Avatar: The Way of Water will hit theaters on December 16, 2022.
