Actresses Anushka Sharma and Taapsee Pannu took to social media to wish the Indian Women’s Cricket Team luck ahead of their first match in the Cricket World Cup 2022. Both the actresses will be playing cricketers in their next. The Indian cricket team is up against the Cricket team of Pakistan in the final match.
Taapsee on Saturday evening shared a picture of Women’s cricket team representing India in the World Cup and wrote on Twitter: “Let’s do this girls, Third time lucky maybe. Pour in your love n wishes as @M_Raj03 and her rock stars enter the field tomorrow for their first match in this World Cup against Pakistan #CWC22 #WorldCup 2022.”

Taapsee will be seen playing Mithali Raj who is the Captain of India women's national cricket team, in her next titled Shabash Mithu. Anushka Sharma who has close ties with the cricket world being married to cricket Virat Kohli also sent good wishes to the team cheering them on as she wrote in her Isntagram stories, “Give it up for the women in blue! The entire nation is with you, wishing you the best for a great World Cup!”
Anushka has signed on to play cricketer Jhulan Goswami in her biopic titled Chakda Express. Jhulan Goswami is the former Captain of the Indian Criket team and also playing in the World Cup.
Anushka’s film was announced earlier this year and will mark her return to acting after a four year gap. The actress is currently prepping for the part.
The Indian women’s cricket team is yet to win a World Cup but has been the runner up in the 2005 and 2017 series. So for India has participated in 10 World Cups.
