When Katrina Kaif called her break-up with Ranbir Kapoor a 'blessing': 'It’s probably one of the first times in my life where ...'

Ranbir Kapoor may be a private person with no social media presence but that has never stopped his fans from being curious to know more about him. His relationships with some of Bollywood’s most popular leading ladies for instance, have kept Ranbir in the limelight even when his films were not. One of the most talked about relationship from his past was with actress Katrina Kaif .

The duo dated for several years and even lived together at one point of time. During the final years of their relationship there were even whispers of a wedding, however, the couple called it quits in 2016 shocking their fans.

The two were rather open about the break-up and Katrina even went so far as to call the break-up a blessing in one of her old interviews. The actress who is now married to Uri star Vicky Kaushal had once told a leading magazine how the break-up with Ranbir allowed her to get better acquainted with herself.

"I now see it (the breakup) as a blessing because I was able to recognise my patterns, thought processes, and things that I had been so sure of my whole life. I could see them from a whole different perspective,” Katrina had told Vogue.

"It’s probably one of the first times in my life where I really had only myself to focus on. And when you focus on yourself, often, the first thing you realise is that you don’t really know yourself," she added.

Well, there never seemed to be any bad blood between her and Ranbir after the break-up as two went on star in the film Jagga Jasoos together soon after. While Katrina later found love in Vicky, Ranbir began dating actress Alia Bhatt after meeting her on the sets of Brahmastra and they are all set to tie the knot next week.
